I purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my 10 year old grandson who is currently interested in geography. The book is excellent for kids in the 4th, 5th, 6th grades and beyond. Every page is colorful and pack with illustrations or descriptions. The book lays out the world in a logical order, starting with the earth seen from space, then narrowing it down to each continent; Europe, Asia, Africa, The Americas (north & south), Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands), The Arctic, and Antarctica, as well as the countries within each continent. Each continent is highlighted and shown where that specific continent is located on the world globe. The maps are pack with illustrations showing what each region is known for (animals, customs, costumes, foods, plants, activities, landmarks, etc.) then, on the following pages the book has brief written descriptions of each picture on the map, giving a better understanding to what that particular region is about.The book is hardcover and a nice, large size (approximately 9 inches by 12 inches), has a colorful front & back cover with 136 pages inside total. The illustrations are informative, fun, and appropriate for the age levels of older grade school kids. Keep in mind that this is an ILLUSTRATED Children's Atlas. There is some reading but it's not overburdened with a lot of words and paragraphs to read. No actual photographs, just good, clear illustrations and brief descriptions.I am so pleased with my purchase of this jam-packed world atlas for kids!! I'm sure you'll be giving 5 stars also!
Amazing! I bought many of this book for kids 4-12yrs I even bought one for me! It covers details of every country ! So in love! And the pictures are GORGEOUS!
